Three Peaks - Tre Cime roundtrip
The Alta Pusteria valley offers astounding landscapes of the italian Dolomites. The emblem of the Dolomites mountains are the Three Peaks (in italian language: Tre Cime di Lavaredo). Circling around Tre Cime is one of the most spectacular and even easy walking-tours in Alta Pusteria valley. |
From lake Misurina a toll road leeds up to Rifugio Auronzo (2320 m) located beside the Tre Cime.
A scenic walk around the Tre Cime starts near the parking lot at the end of the toll road beside Rifugio Auronzo. The hiking trail bypasses Rifugio Lavaredo over the Paternsattel (2454 m) and directs tu the Tre Cime Alpine hut (2405 m).
Along the Tre Cime north side we hike upon the Lange Alpe (2270 m) and the Col di Mezzo (2315 m) back to the starting point Rifugio Auronzo. Total hiking time for the beautiful roundtrip is ca 3 until 4 hours. The exact route shows the GPS-Track above.
Much more exhausting is the climb from the village Sexten (parking lot Fischleinboden 1454 m) through the lovely Fischlein valley to the Talschluss alpine hut (1526 m) and then steep up to the Three Peaks alpine hut. If you aren't tired after this hike, proceed to the Büllelejoch (2528 m) and the Zsigmondy alpine huts (2235 m) and then descend down into the Fischlein valley. Otherwise from the Tre Cime Alpine hut to Rifugio Auronzo and return by urban bus along the toll road down to Sexten. |
