Graduation house for salt inhalation in the royal spa park
In the year 1758 was build the first really large graduation house (160 meters long and 19 meters high) after Hessian model. The brine was pumped into the attic of the Gradierhaus. The today's graduation work in the cure park of bath Reichenhall dates from the years 1909 to 1910 and was built by Eugen Drollinger as Freiluft inhalatorium. The imposing building is 163 meters long, the central pavilion 23 meters high. In the longitudinal direction are the corridors of the graduation movement, the so-called Gradierwalls. These grading walls, which produce healing saline mist for lung patients, consist of more than one hundred thousand 1 meter long, stacked blackthorn branches (thorn bushes) and are 13 meters high and 148 meters long. Each page consists of about 1900 square meters graduation area. On the windward side, five percent brine (salt water) from the Old Saltworks trickles over the spine walls. The thorn bushes cause the atomization of the salt water. The inhalation effect is best on the leeward side where no brine dribbles. In summer, it is pleasantly cool in the area of the graduation tower covered walkways. The graduation works like a gigantic fridge. |
