Zeppelin Flight over the Stock exchange and bank Metropolis Frankfurt on river Main
Initiated by Kaiser Wilhelm II, the first German airship parade near Frankfurt took place on April 22, 1910, with great participation from the Hessian population. Thousands of spectators admire the famous Graf Zeppelin airship in the fields in front of the spa town of Bad Homburg im Taunus. Graf Zeppelin also gave his name to today's brewery in the Hofgut Kronenhof.
In the Graf Zeppelin beer garden, the delicious self-brewed Kronenhof Hell with a golden yellow colour, natural and unfiltered beer is served. The beer glasses are decorated with the Zeppelin logo. There are Hessian specialties for small and large appetites such as the farmer's hand cheese with music and the Frankfurt green sauce, but also grilled knuckle of pork with sauerkraut or various tarte flambée. In the brewery we sit comfortably right next to the copper brew kettles. Even the way to the toilet is signposted with Zeppelin logos.
The zeppelin for the Skyline flight to Frankfurt starts on a stubble field with skyline view near the Hofgut Kronenhof beer garden.
Flight route: Bad Homburg -> Oberursel -> Nordwestkreuz Frankfurt -> Chemiekonzern Hoechst -> Flughafen Frankfurt -> Griesheim -> Messe Frankfurt -> Bankenviertel Skyline -> Old town, Roemer, Kaiserdom -> Ostend, European Central Bank -> Goethe University & Palmengarten -> Europaturm -> Bad Homburg
At the end of September, the Zeppelin travels from Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance to Bad Homburg for a few days. I booked a 5:45pm flight in the magic evening light. |
